High Protein Beauty Food Bliss Balls - Fruit and Protein Powder Free

I was asked by a lovely Instagram follower to create a protein powder free recipe for high protein bliss balls. Not only are these powder free, they are fruit free too making it a perfect snack for low fodmappers and those with fructose malabsorption. These healthy snacks are loaded with heart healthy fats that support your skin, hair and nails. They also contain zinc, calcium, iron, magnesium all needed to support our cells and prevent premature ageing. Zinc also helps with wound healing and reducing inflammation making it essential for those who suffer from inflammatory skin conditions and acne. 

I made 2 flavoured varieties, but the original base tastes great just as it is! 

Makes 18-20. 


1 cup almond meal

1/4 cup chia seeds

1/3 cup hemp seeds

1/4 cup quinoa flakes

1/3 cup pepitas

3 tbsp almond butter

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp maple syrup

1 1/2 tbsp almond milk


Lemon Coconut

1/2 cup finely desiccated coconut, plus extra for rolling (I didn't have any fine left to roll, so I used a chunkier shredded coconut processed in the food processor)

Juice of 1/2 of a lemon



2 tbsp cacao or cocoa powder



Process all the dry ingredients together in a food processor including the ingredients from whichever flavour you have chosen. Add the wet ingredients and process till it forms a ball, or is sticky enough that it holds together when pressed. Roll into balls. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
