Mariana and Celina have been sharing wholefood recipes with their followers for almost 2 years. So tonight I wanted to chat with Mariana and Celina to find out how it all started, and their top 3 tips for people trying to eat a healthier diet!

How did your blog come about?
Between the two of us we have probably tried every fad diet out there. For us clean eating was the most natural and easiest option to follow and stick to. Once we started eating clean we noticed our skin was glowing, our weight began to drop, we got stronger, felt more energised and in a good state of mind. So this is how Clean Bites began. We started recreating our favourite foods and treats and turning them into clean bites. Our family and friends couldn't get enough of our new creations so we wanted to share our recipes with the rest of the world.
The most rewarding part of the blog?
We love creating new recipes and really appreciate the positive feedback we receive from our followers about how much they enjoy our recipes.
What haven’t you done yet that you wish you could?
We both want to travel more of the world, especially Europe, and experience different cuisines.

If you could choose to eat anything in the world for your next meal, what would it be?
Mariana – Mum’s homemade cannelloni

What was for breakfast?
Mariana – Protein Smoothie
Celina – 2 boiled eggs and a coffee
How would you classify your eating style?
We both eat clean and choose natural over processed foods the majority of the time. However we believe that life is also about balance which means enjoying the not so clean foods on occasion without feeling guilty.
Your favourite way to stay active?
We both do High Intensity Resistance Training.
What are your top 3 tips for people trying to eat a more wholesome diet?
1. Make one change at a time and when it becomes second nature then try making another change.
2. Plan and cook meals in advance. Make extra serving to have for lunch or dinner the next day or freeze any leftovers.
3. Don’t eat boring food. We want to show you through our simple and easy recipes that clean eating can be delicious and you don’t have to miss out on your favourite foods.
What do you wish you knew when starting to eat healthier that you know now?
Don’t be afraid of eating good fats. Low fat or fat free products are not necessarily healthier for you.
Your best advice for living a wholesome, healthy lifestyle?
Get rid of the “diet” mentality! Healthy eating and working out is not something you do until you reach your weight goal then go back to old habits. It needs to become a way of life and you need to adopt a healthier approach to food without restrictions or deprivation. It’s also important to move your body. So find an activity you enjoy and do it with a friend so you will be more likely to stick with it.
